How is body/skin butter different from lotion? The answer lies in the ingredients and composition. Body butter is composed primarily of oils and butters. Many of these natural oils and butters can penetrate the surface of the skin to help nourish and condition skin. The result is skin that is visibly smoother and silky soft. Also, lotions contain 75% water, emulsifiers and a lot of artificial preservatives, which is not the case in skin butters.
